richard qualified as a classroom teacher in 1993 and has worked in a variety of schools, mainly teaching classroom music to secondary school children, but also teaching piano, guitar and singing as a peripatetic teacher and working as an ict and business studies teacher. he has also worked as a composition and music technology teacher for gcse students.

he was head of music in 2 london schools, and during that time ran very successful bands and gospel choirs. he directed many performances and shows at these schools.

richard has also lectured in music technology to music teachers and pgce students at the institute of education in london. he provides consultancy to music departments on curriculum development, assessment strategies and the integration of music technology.
